تعتزم شركة «شياومي» Xiaomi الصينية إطلاق هاتف ذكي بهيكل من الفولاذ، خلال حدث خاص من المقرر عقده في 22 يوليو الجاري، وهو ما يُعتبر غير اعتيادي بالنسبة للهواتف الذكية العاملة بنظام التشغيل «أندرويد». 
وعنونت الشركة بطاقة الدعوة لحدثها السنوي الخاص بالكشف عن منتج جديد بعبارة «رحلة قطعة من الفولاذ». ويتوقع أن يجري خلال الحدث الكشف عن الهاتف الذكي «مي 4» mi 4، الذي سيكون المنتج الرئيس للشركة لعام 2014. 
ويرى المراقبون أنه في حال جاء هاتف «مي 4» بهيكل من المعدن، فسيكون ذلك خطوة للأمام بالنسبة للهواتف الذكية الرخيصة والعاملة بنظام التشغيل «أندرويد»، التي تصنّع عادة من البلاستيك. 
وتشير التسريبات إلى أن «مي 4» سيقدم شاشة بقياس خمس بوصات، وبالدقة الكاملة 1080p. 
وسيعمل الجهاز، الذي يتوقع أن يطرح بسعر يعادل 322 دولاراً، بمعالج رباعي النوى من نوع «سنابدراغون 801»، كما أنه سيقدم كاميرتين، أمامية بدقة خمسة ميغابكسل، وأخرى خلفية بدقة 13 ميغابكسل.
